And here we go, football is finally back godammit!! College game, NFL game, whatever...it's football and I'm happy.

Game One:
NC State vs. South Carolina
ACC vs. SEC - let's start off the year with my conference (Hokies) getting shown up one more time. I don't know anything about either of these teams except as it regards their coaches.
Spurrier is loved by Gator fans but loathed in the DC area where I live. Don't even get my brother started on him. As a lifelong Redskins hater I personally loved his time in Raljon. Truth be told, I've loved every minute of the Dan Snyder era.

And O'Brien? I can't for the life of me understand why the man would leave Boston College for NC State. Better weather? I just don't get it. Same conference, lesser college football history attached to the school, guaranteed to be overshadowed by the Tarheels in his new geographic area, etc. Whatever, he goes from one place that guarantees a low level of mediocrity to a place that guarantees a slightly higher level of mediocrity. Good choice. At least with NC State under O'Brien you'll get some consistency, under the barrel-chested maniac that used to coach them they usually sucked but they could always work up a big scare one or two weeks of the year - kind of like a poor man's Clemson.

First game gets "KKKY" from CunninLynguists.

K.K.K.Y. - CunninLynguists

Game Two:

Oregon State & Stanford

Oh goody - we get to see two packs of hippies fighting each other. Maybe they'll have a hacky sack game at halftime. Yippee

Hippies should get Built to Spill but we'll go with "Come On" by The Panderers

Come On - The Panderers

There's also a game between Wake Forest & Baylor tonight but I'm not wasting a song on this pile of shit game. I know two guys who grew up in Maryland and went to Wake and both of them are bigger Terp fans than they are Wake fans. If they don't care about their team, why should anyone else? And Baylor? I'm betting a six pack of good beer that there are some (which means many) high school teams in Texas that could whip Baylor.
